The Darts of Love
On this day in 1543, Henry VIII married his sixth and final wife, Catherine Parr. The first English woman to publish a book under her own name, she died only eighteen months after Henry at Sudeley Castle.
What better day than today to reveal details of our exciting Darts of Love tour for 2019? Departing on June 4th, this eight-day exploration of this Tudor king's romantic life will take you from Kent to London, stopping at places of significance along the way.
Discover the graves of Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard at the Tower of London, visit Rochester Castle in Kent to see where Henry VIII met his fourth wife, and enjoy a private tour of Hever Castle, where we also spend an indulgent night.
There will also be visits to Hampton Court, Windsor Castle and Sudeley Castle, and the tour will be led by the fantastic Elizabeth Norton. With thirteen books to her name, she is an academic, historian and trained archaeologist with a strong interest in the Tudor period – and is also known for being an expert in the queens of England.
